Art is an abstract, formally structured response to experience in a complex world. I use hands and feet as a form of personal iconography. Gestures evoke states of mind and elements of time. In these tableau each hand is endowed with a sense of persona, enacting a narrative of social interaction.
Strenuously worked, developing at their own slow pace, my paintings, drawings and sculptures evolve with the end goal of striking a balance between visceral experience and imagery reflecting a collective psyche. |
